Day 01 - Arrival in Colombo / Airport pickup / Transfer to Negombo / Relax by the beach / Overnight in Negombo

Arrive in Colombo, where you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to the coastal town of Negombo. Settle in and relax by the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and laid-back charm of this fishing village. Spend a restful night in Negombo as you prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 02 - Transfer to Wilpattu National Park / Afternoon jeep safari / Spot leopards, elephants & sloth bears / Overnight in Wilpattu Safari Camp or Lodge

Travel to Wilpattu National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most scenic wildlife reserves. In the afternoon, set out on an exciting jeep safari in search of leopards, elephants, and the elusive sloth bear. Spend the night in a safari camp or lodge near the park, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness.

Day 03 - Morning nature walk or birdwatching near Wilpattu / Visit ancient Anuradhapura ruins / Drive to Habarana / Overnight in Habarana

Begin your day with a peaceful nature walk or birdwatching session near Wilpattu, taking in the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. Then explore the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in history and culture. Continue your journey to Habarana and settle in for an overnight stay amidst the scenic heart of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle.

Day 04 - Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress / Afternoon safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park (seasonal elephant gathering) / Overnight in Habarana or Sigiriya

Start the day by visiting the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient frescoes and breathtaking views. In the afternoon, enjoy a safari in either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, where you may witness the spectacular seasonal gathering of wild elephants. Return for an overnight stay in Habarana or Sigiriya, surrounded by the natural and historical beauty of the region.

Day 05 - Visit Dambulla Cave Temple / Scenic drive to Kandy via spice gardens / Visit Temple of the Tooth or relax by the lake / Overnight in Kandy

Begin your day with a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its stunning Buddhist murals and statues. Enjoy a scenic drive to Kandy, stopping at fragrant spice gardens along the way to learn about Sri Lanka’s rich botanical heritage. In Kandy, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth or unwind by the tranquil lake before settling in for the night.

Day 06 - Scenic train ride or drive to Nuwara Eliya & Ella / Explore tea plantations or Gregory Lake / Nature walk in the hills / Overnight in Ella.

Take a scenic train ride or drive through the misty mountains to Nuwara Eliya and onward to Ella, passing lush tea estates and breathtaking landscapes. Spend the afternoon exploring tea plantations or relaxing by the serene Gregory Lake. Later, enjoy a peaceful nature walk in the surrounding hills before settling in for an overnight stay in Ella.

Day 07 - Transfer to Udawalawe National Park / Visit Elephant Transit Home / Afternoon jeep safari in Udawalawe / Overnight in Udawalawe or Yala

Travel to Udawalawe National Park, a renowned wildlife destination in southern Sri Lanka. Visit the Elephant Transit Home to observe young elephants being cared for before their release into the wild. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling jeep safari through Udawalawe’s open plains before spending the night in Udawalawe or nearby Yala.

Day 08 - Early morning safari in Yala National Park (leopard & sloth bear sightings) / Transfer to Colombo or southern beach for onward travel or departure

Kick off your day with an exciting early morning safari in Yala National Park, a fantastic spot famous for its high chances of seeing leopards and sloth bears in their natural habitat. After your safari adventure, you can either head back to Colombo or make your way further south to unwind at the beautiful beach, or continue your journey elsewhere.
